RALEIGH — A Charlotte woman won a $200,000 top prize playing the Prize Link Connect scratch-off game. Erica Wilson purchased her winning $5 ticket at the Coulwood BP on Belhaven Boulevard in northwest Charlotte, N.C. Education Lottery officials said.
Wilson arrived at lottery headquarters Monday morning to claim her prize. After required state and federal tax withholdings, she took home $144,021.
Erica Wilson, who regularly plays Prize Link Connect, bought her lucky ticket during a routine trip to the store. Before realizing she had won, she expressed confidence in the scratch-off game.
“I knew I was going to win big on that game,” Wilson said.
After inspecting the ticket, she took a moment to compose herself.

“I was shocked for a minute, then I calmed down,” Wilson said.
Wilson was with her mother when she discovered the win. Following her visit to lottery headquarters, she stated that she plans to save her total payout.
The Prize Link Connect game debuted in April featuring four top prizes of $200,000. Three top prizes remain to be claimed across the state.
