CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Expect Marble Slab Creamery and Great American Cookies to open in Plaza Midwood next month.
A dual-branded location — the first of its kind in Charlotte — is under construction at 1509 Central Ave. It will occupy roughly 1,500 square feet of the former Nova’s Bakery space; Amelie’s will take the remainder for an artisan bread operation.

Marble Slab serves homemade, small-batch ice cream with unlimited mix-ins, milkshakes and ice-cream cakes. Great American Cookies offers 20 different types of cookies, brownies, cookie sandwiches and customizable cookie cakes.
“It will be a dessert destination,” says Ryan Griffin, franchisee.
