FORT MILL, S.C. — Silfab Solar has hired a new corporate director for health and safety.
The Fort Mill solar manufacturing facility announced Wednesday that Jamie Watts will lead Silfab’s environmental, health and safety efforts in both South Carolina and Washington state.

Watts brings over 30 years of experience to the role. According to a release from Silfab, Watts graduated for North Carolina State University with a degreed in chemical engineering. Since then, he’s built a career in global chemical and process manufacturing with expertise in health and safety strategy, environmental compliance, emergency response and large-scale industrial operations.
Watts is also an Iraq War veteran. During Operation Iraqi Freedom, Silfab says he led more than 250 combat missions and earned the Bronze Star and Combat Action Badge.
“It is an honor to join Silfab Solar’s management team,” Watts said in the release. “I am excited to work with leaders throughout the company to continue strengthening our safety culture and drive excellence across our operations.”
