UNION COUNTY, N.C. — The conditions on Highway 74 in Union County were decent Sunday morning, but the danger is expected to grow as a mixture of sleet and snow continues to accumulate across the region.

The Union County’s Sheriff’s Office is urging everyone to stay off the roads and stay home.
Not only will slick roads be a concern, but downed trees due to the weight of ice on branches could become a serious problem.
