LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A 29-year-old Cherryville man died Tuesday night after his vehicle ran off a road and hit a utility pole and a tree in Lincoln County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Johnstown Road near Crouse Road. State troopers said Jair Darinel Zamora Bello was driving a Nissan Pathfinder westbound when the vehicle crossed the centerline and ran off the left side of the roadway.

Bello was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision, according to authorities. He died from his injuries at the scene.
An initial investigation indicates speed and impairment are suspected as contributing factors in the crash.
