CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The outbound lanes of Wilkinson Boulevard were closed from Marshall Drive in west Charlotte into Gaston County for several hours after a dump truck took down power lines Saturday morning.

According to police, a dump truck driver was trapped inside the truck after its raised bed snagged power lines around 11 a.m. on Wilkinson Boulevard near Marshall Drive.
Duke crews are at the scene evaluating the damage but have not said if the accident caused any outages in the area.
Channel 9 was there as the driver got out safely and could see the power lines on top of his truck.
The road reopened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
