Troopers ID driver killed when thrown from pickup truck in Lancaster County

LANCASTER COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash early Friday in Lancaster County.

According to troopers, the single-vehicle wreck happened just before 4 a.m. on Rocky River Road, near Buford Circle, which is about 10 miles east of the town of Lancaster.

A 2013 Chevrolet Silverado went off the right side of the road, hit a ditch and flipped, investigators said.

The driver of the truck, 40-year-old Jamie Boone, was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene. Troopers said Boone was not wearing a seatbelt.

Nobody else was in the truck and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
