UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A Union County teacher arrested on drug charges is now facing new charges for harassment.

Gerald Morton, a chemistry teacher at Parkwood High School, was arrested on April 27 when deputies say they found hemp in his backpack and a gun in his car.

After the arrest, deputies say Morton made a threatening phone call to the school principal, Tracy Strickland.

He was given a $10,000 bond for that charge.
