CHARLOTTE — The Wooden Vine has run out of options. That uptown wine bar and bistro permanently closed on Friday — less than a month after its doors reopened in phase 2 of North Carolina’s reopening process.

“We are 100% closed for good. I think at this point it’s just too late. We bled out so much money,” says Bethany Richey, owner.
She’s been behind that venture since 2016. On Friday, she hosted one last gathering for supporters.
“It really felt like a funeral,” Richey says. “It’s just an emotional roller coaster.”
