Which financial institution outscored big banks in Southeast on satisfaction

CHARLOTTE — United Community Bank took home top marks from customers in the Carolinas and Georgia, according to this year’s J.D. Power U.S. retail banking satisfaction study.

Retail customers gave United Community Bank a score of 884 out of 1,000 in what J.D. Power considers its Southeast region. Georgia-based United beat some of this area’s most prominent banks, including Charlotte’s Bank of America Corp., Fifth Third Bancorp and Wells Fargo & Co.. United’s score was the highest in the nationwide study, which assesses 15 geographic regions.
