Wine bar signs South End lease

CHARLOTTE — An upscale wine bar and bistro has inked a lease in South End. CRÚ Wine Bar & Bistro expects to open its 2,389-square-foot space at Linea in late fall.

That 34-story, luxury apartment tower is at 2161 Hawkins St. Space planning is ongoing for the CRÚ site, says Patrick Colombo, founder and CEO.

He expects to invest around $1.2 million into the space, which will have loft vibes. It has high ceilings, large windows and exposed ductwork. He sees banquette seating that’s more furniture-like and welcoming. There’s also a patio.

“The space will be open and grand,” he says.
