CHARLOTTE — A woman accused of attacking a flight attendant and passengers on a Charlotte-bound flight, then assaulting first responders in June 2024, is taking a plea deal.
Anna Baldwin was working as an EMT and responded to the airport after police said the suspect attacked a flight attendant while intoxicated.

Baldwin said at a hearing on Friday that the suspect, Nicole Pizzi, ripped her hair and attacked her multiple times in the ambulance.
Surrounded by former co-workers at MEDIC, Baldwin told the judge about how the incident impacted her.
Pizzi was facing charges for assaulting Baldwin and two other first responders in June 2024. She was sentenced on Friday to a year in prison with supervised probation on federal charges for attacking the flight attendant and passengers on the flight from Pittsburgh to Charlotte.
Baldwin hoped the judge would reject a plea deal of only supervised probation but told Channel 9’s Gina Esposito she is at peace with it because of how the judge spoke to Pizzi today.
“Sometimes words can go a lot further. and he let her know real quick that you don’t disrespect first responders,” Baldwin said.
Pizzi will serve her federal sentence, before serving probation in this case.
Baldwin said she left MEDIC because of the incident, despite being regarded as one of the agency’s best EMTs.
