FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (AP) — Coast Guard officials confirmed that one of the two kayakers they had been searching for since Saturday has been found.
Logan Brown, 21, was found alive on Sunday after he was reported overdue for a return from a kayak excursion on Saturday. The Deputy Director of Folly Beach Public safety said Brown is in good condition with minor injuries.
The search continues for 22-year-old Dean Britt.
Crews did find Britt’s kayak in the middle of the search area.
The Coast Guard said the two had planned to kayak from Folly Beach to the Morris Island Lighthouse.
They were expected back in Folly Beach before sunset Saturday. The two left about 1 p.m.
A friend of the kayakers notified the Coast Guard on Saturday night they had not returned.
Coast Guard crews and local authorities are searching between Folly Island and the lighthouse.
