ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Firefighters from three different departments were busy trying to put out flames at a Salisbury fast food restaurant early Monday morning.
The fire at the Burger King on Jake Alexander Boulevard near Lincolnton Road was called in by a passerby around 3:30 a.m.
Officials told Channel 9 the restaurant was fully involved and crews were able to knock down the flames by 5:45 a.m.
The 2-alarm fire was so intense that all on-duty firefighters were called to the scene, and off-duty firefighters had to be called in to cover the rest of the city.

Ladder trucks poured 1,000 gallons of water per minute on the fire.
Surrounding businesses were without power and investigators said it could be days before they determine what started the fire.
