PINEVILLE, N.C. — One person died in an industrial accident Sunday morning in Pineville, MEDIC said.
The accident happened at Erdle Perforating, a metal manufacturer, on Culp Road.
OSHA officials told Channel 9 that a worker was hit and killed by a large disc.
Investigators said the worker was on a forklift platform, performing maintenance when a large disc at the top of the machine came down, killing him.
That worker’s name has not been released.
OSHA is still investigating but told Channel 9 there have been violations in the past, including citations for five serious violations in 2013.
