Go ghost hunting at Historic Rosedale

Historic Rosedale Plantation

Built in 1815, Historic Rosedale is one of the last remaining antebellum homes in the Charlotte area and one of the city’s best kept secrets. It’s also believed to be one of the most active sites for paranormal activity.

Several times a year, the plantation hosts one of its most popular events, Paranormal Grounds Investigations, led by the Charlotte Area Paranormal Society.

These scientific-minded ghost hunters lead small groups of no more than 15 guests through the grounds and attempt contact with the beyond using the latest technology.

Upcoming dates are Oct. 16-17.

Tickets cost $15 in advance and $20 the week of the events. Tickets usually sell out quickly, so it’s recommended that you purchase tickets in advance.

Special late-night tours, “At the Stroke of Midnight” are also scheduled for Oct. 16-17. Tickets for this event cost $45 in advance and $50 the week of.

In addition, the plantation offers a Haunted History Tour. These tours are held outside and in the gardens and grounds surrounding the house. Upcoming dates for this tour are Oct. 2 and Oct. 9. Tickets for the tour on Sept. 25 are already sold out.

Space is limited to 20 people and guests will be required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing during the tour.
