Charlotte hot spot lands on best burgers in US list

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The list of best burgers in America has been released and a Charlotte restaurant made the grade.

USA Today featured the list, compiled by well-known restaurant guidebook Zagat, which released its "Best Burgers in 25 Cities" on Monday.

Diners said they eat burgers more than four times per month, according to Zagat.

In light of the statistic, Zagat polled viewers in 25 cities throughout the United States.

Bad Daddy's Burger Bar on East Boulevard in Charlotte made the list after viewers said the restaurant has "huge burgers" (made from beef, poultry, pork, buffalo, tuna or black beans) and is always crowded.

Viewers told Zagat that Bad Daddy's has many options that are "fairly priced" and has an "endless" array of toppings.

They also voted for Bad Daddy's for its build-your-own salads and sides like "devilish Tater Tots."

Bad Daddy's has two other locations in Charlotte in Birkdale Village and Ballantyne.

The Vortex Bar and Grill was voted as Zagat's top burgers in the Atlanta area.

Zagat stated, "Every city puts a different spin on their burgers" and hopes Zagat's best burger list "helps travelers discover some of the tastiest patties around the country."
