STATESVILLE, N.C. — A 19-year-old Statesville man pleaded guilty to charges linked to dog fighting, U.S. Attorney Russ Ferguson said in a release.
Juelz Daniels pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate the Animal Welfare Act. On Thursday, he admitted to possessing, training and selling dogs to fight, the Statesville Record reported.
Another Iredell County man, 55-year-old Reginald Goodson Jr., faces similar charges. The charge against him is still pending.
Prosecutors say the operation went on from January 2021 to May 2026. The two men are accused of operating at least one dog kennel to breed, raise and sell the dogs for fighting.
Ferguson said Daniels even posted advertisements for some of the dogs on multiple Facebook groups for dog fighting.
Daniels is being held in federal custody as he awaits sentencing.
