Police charge 16-year-old boy charged with murder of young woman in Concord

CONCORD, N.C. — Concord police have charged a 16-year-old boy with the murder of an 18-year-old woman Thursday night in the Winecoff School Road area.

Officials said they responded to a shooting around midnight on Zered Place Northwest, near Davidson Highway and Interstate 85.

Police arrived at the scene to find Hailey Molina Dominguez had been shot. Witnesses told police the shooting took place in an upstairs bedroom.

Dominguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The teen who shot Dominguez was transported to the Concord Police Department for questioning and charged with murder before being placed in custody of juvenile authorities.

Police said Dominguez and the suspect knew each other. The teen has a criminal history with the Concord Police Department.
