Man dead, three injured in shooting outside Shelby bar, police say

SHELBY, N.C. — One man died and three people were injured after a shooting outside a bar in Shelby early Saturday morning, the Shelby Police Department said.

Police said they responded around 12:30 a.m. to the 1800 block of East Dixon Boulevard for a shooting in the back parking lot of Skooterz Saloon.

On scene, they said two men were found with gunshot wounds.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene by Cleveland County EMS. The other man was transported to Atrium Health Cleveland and is in stable condition, police said.

Saturday afternoon, Shelby police said two additional victims drove themselves to the hospital and were treated for gunshot wounds. Their injuries were said to not be life-threatening.

The identities of the victims are not being released until their families have been notified.

Police said no arrests have been made and they had no suspect information to release.

The investigation is active and ongoing, police said.
