1 dead, 2 hurt in Sunday morning shooting in Salisbury, police say

SALISBURY, N.C. — A person died and two others were hurt in a Sunday morning shooting near Salisbury High School, police said.

Salisbury police officers were called to the scene along South Jackson Street at about 12:30 a.m. and found three people who had been shot. One of the victims died at the scene and the other two victims were taken to the hospital, according to police.

Police have not yet released the names of the people who were shot and authorities have not said what led up to the shooting.
