Arrest made after 16-year-old found shot to death in parked SUV, Rock Hill police say

ROCK HILL, S.C. — Rock Hill police are investigating after a 16-year-old boy was found shot to death inside an SUV Monday afternoon.

Officers were called to the scene along W. Main Street around 3:20 p.m. When they got there, police found Matthew Roberston who was shot inside a parked, gold-colored SUV.

He died at the scene. Autopsy and toxicology results are pending.

On Wednesday, police said they had arrested a 15-year-old for Robertson’s murder.

The teen was charged with murder, possession of a handgun by a person under 18, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and unlawful carrying of a firearm. The juvenile was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia.

No other information has been released and the investigation is ongoing.
