VIDEO: Twin-engine plane makes emergency landing at Raleigh airport; 1 hurt, 1 missing

MORRISVILLE, N.C. — A twin-engine turboprop aircraft made an emergency landing Friday at Raleigh-Durham International Airport Thursday after reported landing-gear issues, and a search is underway for a person who reportedly jumped or fallen from it before the landing, ABC 11 reported.

The CASA C-212 Aviocar landed on Runway 5R-23L and veered into the grass.

RDU first responders confirmed that the pilot on board was taken to Duke Hospital with minor injuries, ABC 11 reported.

Another pilot is thought to have jumped out of the plane toward a body of water near West Lake Middle School in Apex before the landing attempt. Authorities were actively searching for that person.

The airfield was temporarily closed until the scene was secured, RDU officials said.
