MOUNT HOLLY, N.C. — Police were investigating a deadly crash in Mount Holly Tuesday afternoon involving a tractor-trailer.
The wreck happened around 1 p.m. on Highway 273 and involved an 18-wheeler and a passenger car.
Mount Holly police told Channel 9 that the driver of the car, 60-year-old Bonnie Pearson of Belmont, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.
The southbound Interstate 85 ramp onto Highway 273 was shut down for hours while authorities investigated.
It’s still not clear what caused the collision and police have not said if any charges will be filed.
