CHARLOTTE — A teen died while trying to cross the interstate in University City Tuesday night, troopers said.
It happened around 10:30 p.m. on Interstate 485 Outer at the North Tryon exit, shutting down a portion of the roadway for the investigation.
Troopers say 19-year-old Logan Glaubitz, of Cameron, North Carolina, attempted to cross the interstate after leaving a concert at PNC Music Pavilion on foot. Glaubitz was struck while crossing in the far left lane.
The car involved sustained extensive damage, and a large hole was seen in the windshield.
Officials say no charged are expected to be filed at this time.
