106-year-old Davidson home relocated, salvaged for affordable housing

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Work crews in Davidson have moved a 106-year-old home to make room for a new roundabout near Roosevelt-Wilson Park.

Instead of knocking the house down, officials salvaged it for affordable housing. It’s now relocated a few blocks away, with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Charlotte restoring the home and finding new owners through its program.
