CHARLOTTE — Police have identified and charged the man accused of carjacking a student in a UNC Charlotte campus parking lot on Sept. 12.
Investigators say Zyvarius Webber robbed a UNC Charlotte student at gunpoint and stole their car. UNC Charlotte said campus cameras and other security technology provided information that helped investigators identify him. He is now facing three charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony larceny of a motor vehicle and attempted felony larceny.

Then, just four days later, an 18-year-old with the same name was arrested after another carjacking in north Charlotte. That case led police on a 90-mile chase down Interstate 85 and across state lines into South Carolina. Channel 9 is working to confirm whether they are they same person.
In a release, UNC Charlotte said Webber has been in custody since Sept. 17 for what it calls “unrelated incidents.”
