CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Two people have been charged after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle Tuesday night in west Charlotte, officials said.
Officers said they tried to stop Ronnie Fewell and Avery Hewett, who were in a stolen car near Remount Road and Wilkinson Boulevard.
They were quickly taken into custody and face several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and leading police on a chase.
Police told Channel 9 one of the suspects had a warrant for assault with a deadly weapon.
The chase ended around 11 p.m. when the the pair jumped from the vehicle and ran into the Timberbrook Apartments off of Tuckaseegee Road.

A third person in the car was detained but not charged.
