CHARLOTTE, N.C. — For so many families in the Charlotte area, the only way to afford a home is with a government housing voucher. But that can bring nearly as many problems as it solves.

More than 7,000 families in Charlotte currently receive HUD housing vouchers to help them afford rent. But many say they can’t find landlords who will accept those vouchers.
Now there is a new push to change that -- but it comes with push back.
