Amber Alert: Abducted 11-year-old NC girl found safe in SC

POLK COUNTY, N.C. — A missing 11-year-old girl from Polk County, North Carolina, who was believed to be abducted by her uncle, has been found safe, authorities said.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff Office said late Sunday that it found Allison Henderson.

The girl was noticed missing at around 4 a.m. Sunday but was originally believed to be a runaway. Officials said they pinged her cellphone at 38-year-old David Henderson’s house. Police said he is a violent offender and the girl’s uncle.

An Amber Alert was issued for Allison Sunday afternoon.

Officials said they had not been able to contact Allison or David, and that they may have gone to Spartanburg County, South Carolina.

No word yet on whether any charges will be filed. The Amber Alert in this case has been canceled.

No other details have been released at this point.
