The Sept. 20, 2016, shooting at an apartment complex off Old Concord Road led to violent protests in Charlotte.
Last week, the city unveiled a new website called "One Year Later."
Local activists believe it will hold leaders accountable.
Thousands of protesters took to the streets of uptown Charlotte following the shooting. Many were upset with police and years of racial divide in the city.
