CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are trying to figure out who shot a man to death Saturday night in south Charlotte.

Derreck McDonald, 36, was found dead in the parking lot at the Andover Woods Apartments off Sharon Lakes Road.
CMPD is conducting a homicide investigation in the 8000 block of Andover Creek Drive. One person has been pronounced deceased.

Paramedics said they responded to an “unknown problem” call at the location at about 7:30 p.m. and found McDonald.
His slaying is the city’s 111th homicide of 2020.
No arrests have been made and no further information has been released.
