Beloved Union County crossing guard named Employee of Month

UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A crossing guard who brings big smiles to students, parents and drivers in Union County was named Union County Public Schools Employee of the Month.

Jerome Sutton, known for his sweet moves outside of Sun Valley Middle School, has been crossing guard at the school for more than a decade.

Sutton has helped students get to class safely and kept traffic moving smoothly, often with a salute, a five-five and a smile.
