Ben McAdoo will not return as Panthers’ offensive coordinator, league source confirms

CHARLOTTE — Ben McAdoo will not be returning as the Carolina Panthers’ offensive coordinator next season, a league source confirmed Thursday.

McAdoo agreed to terms with the Panthers in January 2022 under former head coach Matt Rhule.

This is not an unexpected move for the team that recently hired Frank Reich as head coach.

Reich’s first addition to the coaching staff was Ejiro Evero as the new defensive coordinator.

Timeline:

  • Reich retained offensive line coach James Campen and special teams coach Chris Tabor from Rhule’s staff.
  • He then added Duce Staley to the offensive staff. His role is still being determined.
  • Evero was hired as the defensive coordinator.
  • The team brought on linebackers coach Peter Hansen.

The Panthers are still looking out for a new offensive coordinator.
