Blumenthal Performing Arts to require masks for all upcoming shows

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — In response to Charlotte’s latest mask mandate, Blumenthal Performing Arts announced that all patrons will be required to wear masks in all indoor venues, regardless of age and vaccination status, except when eating or drinking in designated areas.

The mask requirement goes into effect immediately.

“Blumenthal’s top priority is the health, safety and comfort of our audiences,” Blumenthal CEO Tom Gabbard said in a news release. “Though things may look a little different, we are excited to welcome the best of Broadway and the arts back to our venues while doing our part to keep our community safe and slow the spread of the virus.”

In addition to Blumenthal’s venues such as Belk Theater, Knight Theater and Spirit Square, masks will be required at Blumenthal events such as the recently extended Immersive Van Gogh exhibit at Camp North End, the Broadway musical “Wicked” at Ovens Auditorium and the Charlotte SHOUT! Festival.
