Charlotte chef notches win on Food Network’s ‘SuperChef Grudge Match’

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte chef Chris Coleman is back on top after his latest appearance on the Food Network. Coleman notched a win on an episode of “SuperChef Grudge Match” that premiered Wednesday night.

It marked redemption in more ways than one. The show brings together chefs who have personal or professional disputes to settle in “a one-round, one-dish heavyweight battle,” according to the network’s website. And, the last time Coleman was on a cooking competition show — “Guy’s Grocery Games,” also on Food Network — he came up short.

Each episode of “SuperChef” features two matchups, with the winners claiming a $10,000 cash prize, a coveted knife from the losing chef’s knife roll, and, of course, bragging rights.

This time, Coleman came out on top.
