CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Douglas International Airport is negotiating a new deal with five airlines that serve the airport — American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest and United airlines.

The new agreement would help pave the way for several major projects at the airport, including a new concourse, a passenger tunnel and international arrivals upgrades.

The proposal will be presented to Charlotte City Council on Oct. 12 with a vote expected at a later meeting.
