CHARLOTTE — Charlotte City Council is eyeing an extension of the data center moratorium.
Council members will vote on Monday night to set a public hearing for Oct. 12.
Right now, the moratorium is projected to expire on Nov. 5.
However, the city says it needs more time to look at research conducted by the World Resources Institute on data center impacts.
Staff also needs to conduct technical research on potential regulatory tools, such as capacity verification and cooling standards.
