CHARLOTTE — Charlotte FC and Forward Andre Shinyashiki agreed to terminate his contract, the soccer team announced on Tuesday.

Shinyashiki joined Charlotte FC in May 2022 after playing with the Colorado Rapids.

The team didn’t release any other details about the contract termination.

Shinyashiki has been sitting out and hasn’t played for months.

In May, Shinyashiki wrote on Twitter to “address [a] story that came out.” He didn’t provide context, but he said he “fully cooperated with Charlotte police and MLS in their separate investigations.” He said that no charges were filed against him, but he had no further comment.
