CHARLOTTE — A structure fire broke out in the 7600 block of Gwynne Hill Road on Wednesday, prompting a rapid response from the Charlotte Fire Department.
Fire crews arrived on the scene to find smoke and fire showing.

A total of 30 firefighters were deployed to tackle the incident, successfully controlling the fire in approximately 40 minutes.
There were no reported injuries among civilians or firefighters during the incident.
Fire officials said the fire was intentionally set and caused an estimated $65,000 in damage.

The scene of the fire is at the same home where three individuals are accused of neglecting a 6-year-old girl, Dominique Moody.
Moody died after suffering abuse, according to police reports.
The Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force said the investigation into the fire is ongoing.
