Charlotte native shares message after battle with breast cancer

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte native Reggie Hoggans is getting checked annually for breast cancer after beating the disease.

Breast cancer in men is rare.

Novant Health oncologist Lori Gentile said 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer.

In men, it is 1 in 1,000. And in many cases, the cancer gets to the later stages.
