Charlotte on shortlist for ACC headquarters with decision expected soon

CHARLOTTE — Atlantic Coast Conference Commissioner Jim Phillips said this week the conference expects to decide where its headquarters will be within the next two months.

Charlotte is considered a heavy favorite to land the ACC, which has been based in Greensboro since its founding 70 years ago. CBJ reported previously the headquarters will be moved to Charlotte but that has yet to be officially confirmed.

Charlotte, Greensboro, and Orlando, Florida, are the three finalists for the office. Phillips cryptically said the finalists are three cities in two states and declined to be more specific.
