CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — The Chester County Council approved a pause on new data center development Monday.

The county council unanimously approved the temporary moratorium. This means no new data centers can be built in the area for at least six months.

Leaders say this decision gives them more time to set rules and guidelines.

Starting next month, the county will hold educational meetings for the public to learn more about data centers.
