CMPD: Man charged in connection with 2022 homicide in north Charlotte

CHARLOTTE — A man has been charged in connection with a homicide that occurred in 2022 in north Charlotte, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

On April 17, 2022, police were called to Metals Drive, near the intersection of Reagan Drive and North Graham Street, just before 9:15 p.m.

At the scene, officers said they found a man, later identified as 39-year-old Steven Lowe II, who had been shot.

Lowe was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.

On April 14, 2023, police announced that 28-year-old Jamal Dulin had been identified as a suspect in this case.

Dulin was taken into custody following an interview with police. He has been charged with murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied moving vehicle.

Police said the investigation into this shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a homicide unit detective.
