CMPD continues its push to end street racing in Queen City

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are cracking down on street racing in the Queen City.

In May, more than two dozen people face charges while investigators confiscated their tricked-out vehicles.

“For me, we are not criminals,” said an 18-year-old street racer who did not want to be identified. “This is the first time I got arrested. I never been in jail or nothing, just trying to have fun.”
