CMPD charge man after body found in car

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police charged a man Saturday in connection to a murder in north Charlotte.

Department detectives have charged Elijah Sinclair Parker, 20, with Malik Teasdell’s murder.

A passerby found Teasdell, 24, dead in a car on Aug. 24 on Lasalle Street.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of Lasalle Street at about 3 a.m. after someone heard a gunshot. They found Teasdell in the car at the Quick and Easy convenience store, just off Interstate 77.

DNA evidence found at the crime scene identified Parker, detectives said.

Officials found Parker in the Mecklenburg County jail where he was being held on different crimes.
