CHARLOTTE — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a homicide in east Charlotte after a man was found fatally shot on Sunday evening.
Officers responded to the scene around 8 p.m. on North Sharon Amity Road near Sharon Chase Drive.
Once police got to there, they found 46-year-old Jonathan McCorkle in the road. They said he had been shot.
MEDIC confirmed McCorkle died at the scene.
Channel 9 crews could see police had the road temporarily blocked and crime scene investigators were working near a white Mercedes sedan, where evidence markers were placed near shell casings on the ground.

Police have not released any other information and no arrests have been made.
