CMPD: Man wanted in connection with Thanksgiving slaying arrested in Arkansas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police said a man wanted for his involvement in a homicide in west Charlotte on Thanksgiving night has been arrested in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Police were called around 9:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving to the scene on South Gardner Avenue near Rozzelles Ferry Road.

Officers confirmed 60-year-old Rory Montgomery died at the scene.

According to CMPD, an altercation between Montgomery and another person led to the shooting.

Bailey was named a suspect and warrants were issued for his arrest. Police said between detectives with CMPD’s Violent Criminal Apprehension Team, the United States Secret Service, the FBI and the Little Rock Police Department, they were able to make an arrest.

Bailey will be served his outstanding warrants for murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon when he has been extradited back to Charlotte. No other details have been released.
