CMS after-school programs to stay open due to increased demand

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Many of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools’ After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) sites were set to close in April, but the district announced this week 82 programs will now remain open through the school year.

The district credits increased demand and revenue for the decision, which means hundreds of employees will keep their jobs and 477 students can stay in their programs.
