CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools officials said tests detected increased levels of lead in water at four more schools in the district.

The district announced yesterday testing showed lead levels above state standards in a sink in the visitor's concession stand at Harding University High School, in a sink at South Meck's Gym concession stand, in a sink in the baseball concession stand and the teacher's lounge at East Meck, and a classroom sink at Kennedy Middle School.
CMS said all of the sinks are out of service.
The tests also found elevated copper levels at the Smith Family Center, South Meck, and J.T. Williams Montessori.
